The Long Beach City College Workplace Learning Resource Center
(WpLRC) is one of twelve community college workplace centers throughout
California. The centers were established by the Chancellor’s
Office to provide the public and private sectors with a variety
of customized workplace learning services, such as occupation-specific
skills assessment, basic skills instruction, English as a Second
Language (ESL), and customer service training.
Our programs are functional in context and can be applied immediately
to the job after training. We offer a variety of delivery methods
including computer-based training, online instruction and, on-site
training to meet the needs of any professional workforce.
The mission of the Workplace Learning Resource Centers is to drive
economic and workforce development in California through high quality,
innovation, affordable education, learning and training solutions
through community colleges for employers in the private and public
sectors.
Workplace Learning Resource Centers strive to serve their colleges,
their community and their colleagues and build California’s
future workforce by providing educational programs through community
colleges that are customized for the local communities that they
serve.
