The goal of the California Mexico Trade Assistance Centers (CMTAC)

is to develop business opportunities between companies in California and Mexico. Both programs are grant funded by the Economic and Workforce (EDWP) Development Network of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.

Trade Missions
CMTAC organizes trade missions to Mexico to important and relevant trade shows in conjunction with other CMTAC partners. Reverse trade missions will also be organized to bring groups of business executives from Mexico to meet with local companies. These forums provide an excellent opportunity for California companies to meet potential customers and vendors from Mexico California Mexico Trade Assistance Centers (CMTAC).
The California-Mexico Trade Assistance Centers operate conveniently located offices throughout California. The goal of each center is to develop awareness of the benefits and opportunities of conducting business in Mexico. Manufacturers, distributors and service companies should all examine their business options in Mexico. Consider a few simple facts:

  • Mexico has replaced Japan as the leading trade partner for California.
  • For every $1 billion of California exports to Mexico, 14,000 to 16,000 higher paying jobs are created.
  • Future changes in NAFTA regulations will greatly favor businesses in the border states with Mexico - especially California!
