Program Overview
The Entrepreneur Academy is an accelerated 9-week training program designed to assist participants in identifying if entrepreneurship is an option for their current and future aspirations. The program is designed to provide fundamental basics in starting and running a small business.

Curriculum Outline
The intense 9-week pilot program provides tangible skills that will give participants the basic knowledge required to start and run a small business enterprise. Participants are required to attend one mandatory orientation session. The program will also include one-on-one business consulting and mentoring to assist participants in the completion of the program.

Topics covered include:

  • Developing your Business Concept- Legal structure, etc.
  • Identifying your niche market and developing a marketing plan and sales strategy
  • Human Resources issues
  • Understanding Budgets and Financials and the use of technology in your business
  • Identifying funding for your business- Financing Options
  • Managing cash flow
  • Writing the Business Plan
Upon completion of the program, there will be a business plan competition. Participants who complete the program will have an opportunity to present their plan before a panel of lenders for a chance to receive a business start up loan to launch their business.
