Careers In Child Care
Funded by the Dept. of Public Social Services, this program
provides Calworks students with the opportunity to receive
academic training and on the job training in preschools. Students
are required to combine working at a preschool and receive
training for a maximum of 32 hours a week.

AmeriCorps Early Childhood Education
Literacy Program
Funded by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's
Office, this program provides an opportunity for students
to combine early childhood education with service learning.
Students tutor infants/toddlers and preschoolers in literacy
who are low-income, limited English speaking, reading or functioning
below grade/age level. Students are eligible to receive an
educational award to assist in their education.

Good Beginnings Never End
This program is funded by Los Angeles County Children and
Families First Proposition 10 Commission, for children ages
0-5 years old to enhance child care and early learning opportunities
in license exempt and licensed family child care homes. This
program delivers services via a mobile van which include child
development, literacy activities, music, art experiences,
follow- up on immunizations, mentoring and much more.

Child Care Access Means Parents In
School (ACCESS)
Access is a grant from the U.S. Department of Education
to provide child care assistance to low-income families attending
college. This project has empowered low-income parents/students
to attend college and provide a supportive seam line connection
between them and the college.

Refugee/Immigrant Training and Employment Program (RITE)
Funded through Los Angeles County DPSS and Dept. of Community
Senior Services, this program provides social services to
immigrants and refugees who have resided in the United States
for over 5 years or more and have one or more children in
their household.

Refugee Assistance Program (RAP)
Rap is a federal funded program which assists persons admitted
into the U.S. as refugees to become self-sufficient after
their arrival. Temporary RAP cash aid and medical aid is available
to refugees for up to 8 months after their entry into the
U.S.
